I'm in the middle of installing an AFE Stage II intake on my 6.0 PSD ('05 F-350 CC DRW, if that makes any difference) and found that the Mass Air Sensor that is supposed to be held by torx screws is not the way it's shown in the instructions. It is held in by a rubber grommet and is much smaller than the hole provided. Am I the first one to encounter this? (I HOPE NOT!!!) What do I do to get this finished??? Here are pics of what I have:

Thank you in advance for any help you can give me on this!

Call them up, I had the same problem, they will send you the correct part. I know its a PITA, but you can still drive around that way for a few days and not hurt anything. There now is a 102 ways to use duct tape, at least temporarily. Good luck. Jeff

Thanks for the reply Jass! I e-mailed AFE and they replied within the hour (in the evening, now THAT's service!!!) Eric Griffith in customer service is sending me out the appropriate part at no cost. Talk about a company that stands behind their product! I am very happy with the way they are handling this issue so far. This, combined with what looks to be a very well made intake. Now I know why people recommend the AFE brand!!! By the way, if anyone else runs into this problem, here is what Eric at AFE's customer service wrote back to me:

Yes, we can help.

We found out that there are a certain number of 2005's that did not use the mass air sensor, but only have a temperature sensor instead. To accommodate these vehicles, we have designed a grommet that will allow the temp sensor to be mounted in the same hole for the mass air.

Thanks for providing the address. We will go ahead and send one out to you at no charge.

Please let me know if we can do anything else to assist.

Thank you.

Thats good to hear. I had a bent metal ring(sorry its late, can't remember what they are called), you know the one that is used to tighten the filer down (7.3). I called them and just told them, I didn't ask for a new one because it worked OK. but they sent me one out pronto. I didn't even ask them to, i just said well make sure you make sure they aren't all getting bent when they get put in the box. Very good customer service.
