Well, I have finially decided to give up on my stock headlights (well, I guess that they gave up on me). Some time ago they started to fog up after a good rain and now lately they are basically useless.

I have read posts by some of you who have gone the route of the "Diamond" (or similar) headlights. Obviously, all may not be created equal (I assume).

For those of you who have had good luck with yours over an extended period of time (couple of years), which/ who's do you have?

For those of you who have had problems with theirs (poorly constructed, lenses grenaded, yellowing, etc), which/ who's were they?

I have seen some on ebay that seem to be priced at what appears to be reasonable, but am unsure of their quality. I have seen others online that are priced 3-4 times more that those on ebay, but don't know the difference between them besides their pricing. I don't mind spending money for quality, but HATE wasting money on crap!

Thanks in advance for your help.

I got replacement lights from A1 Auto due to the same issues. I've only had them for about 3 months, but so far so good. They looked and installed identical to the Ford parts that I took out and even came with new bulbs.

The way I see it is even if I have to replace them every three or four years, they are so cheap that it won't matter.

Good Luck,
Mike

Mark, I bought some on ebay from makota? auto, they look real good and fit well. But-they seem a little "splotchy" and dont have the best light dispersion, or maybe I'm too picky.

I've had my "Diamond" headlight bezels in now for about a year and a half, and that splotchy "look" is what you get!
You do get use to it, as it's just "different" than how the stock headlights project their beam in my opinion.
As for brightness, alot depends on the bulb you use, as their are good bulbs out there. PIIA is one of the better bulbs, but you do pay alot more for their bulbs.
I also changed to the upgraded wire harness from GOS Racing, and run what they call an "equivalent" 130 - 100 w bulb.
I've tried others (not the PIIA though) and so far these have been the best overall.

One thing with the Diamond type headlights that I have found, is that when you put your "High Beam" selector on, you don't get much more light "forward"...as it just brightens the low beam area more.
That is the main negative I would say with these lights, as well as I've found the mechanism for adjusting the lights to be less of a quality than the stockers.

No doubt about it though, the certainly LOOK better than the stock lights, and overall I've been happy with mine.
Regarding the physical bezel itself, I've really had no issues...it is just the lack of light precence a long way out that seems to be missing.

This is something i noticed, I bought the $250 tail lights from summit racing and the fogged up, I bought the cheap ebays tail lights for my mustang they fogged up $40. There were the same make APC.

Ebay or Retail doesn’t matter really. I would imagine the tail lights and the head lights are in the same boat. My Head lights are from the cheapest person i could find selling them on ebay but new not used. I have not had any problems in three months.

More money isn’t always better, just some sales guy is eating steak and one is having Mac and cheese.
