This week my air bag light started coming on. First it blinks two times then seven times then does nothing for a few seconds then goes thru the whole blinky thing again does this a few times then stays on until ignition is turned off. Then does it all over again when truck is restarted. Any ideas?

Light Flash Code 27 means your Passenger air bag switch warning lamp is burnt out. If you scan it you'd also get a DTC B1884.

You'll probably either need to replace the whole switch with a new one from Ford, or some of the guys have been replacing just the lamp with one from Radio Shack. Don't recall the particulars, but you may be able to turn it up with a search.

You were correct went and turned air bag off and no light turned on and off still no light!!! Caled Ford and they want $110 for a stinking light bulb said it wasn't a servicable part needed the whole air bag switch!! What a joke so is there any way of changing just the bulb???? Any help would be helpful!! Thanks!!

This has happened twice in my truck; it's an easy fix. Remove the dash and the box with the light and switch in it. Open the box and you will find a small circuit board. Remove the light bulb and solder a new one on where the old one was. Make sure you get a bulb and not a LED. It kind of looks like a LED, but the bulb just has an amber rubber cover on it. Transfer this to the new bulb as well (not absolutely necessary, but if not, your light will be white and brighter than normal). Reassemble and all should be well. The bulb should be less than $2 at an electronic store. Good luck.
