I'm not sure if this is the right section but here goes anyway. Has anyone ever gotten rid of the 134 freon in thier ac system and gone back to the R 12 or equivelent. Has there been any problems? This is on a 97 F 350 by the way. I have lots of R12 left and the adaptors to do the job so I wonder if it is feasable.

Sell your R-12 and buy some R-134a. There would be no advantage to changing a 97 F-350 to R-12. What kind of adapters do you have? I sell retrofit adapters and I've never seen an adapter to change a 134a service port to an R-12 service port.

No kidding.. R12 is liquid gold. I'd sell it, buy some 134a and pocket the difference (big chunk of change!).
