First thing to do would be to GET RID of that K&N filter. They let too much crap by in a forced induction engine.

Yeah, K&N's aren't very popular around here. A few folks run them and still swear by them... they are a definate minority of the most people that post on these forums.

Do a search here or on Google for "DIY TYMAR" or "6637 mod" or call Dale Isley at Tymar Performance in Washington.

I run a K&N cold air intake on my 5.4L gasser and love it, hasn't given me any problems every, and I noticed a couple of extra mpgs on the highway (of course that was before I put on my 12.50 mudders, haha)...to each his own I guess...

For gassers seems to work find , but not for DIESELS :nono:. As Dave said: They let too much crap by in a forced induction engine.

FORCED INDUCTION is the key here...a NA 5.4L Gasser isn't sucking nearly the amount of air a Turbo Diesel is.

Scrap the K&N and get a tymar setup from Dale Future Home of Tymar Performance

I agree with scrapping the K&N's. Every diesel truck I've worked on with a K&N filter the air inlet tubing will be full of dirt. I did see somewhere that there where wraps for the 6637 filter, anyone know where?
