I know, I know...the stock filter walks on water. But it is a BIG PITA when it comes to takin it off when necessary (not that it is a regular necessity thank god). Can any one shed any light on if or does Volant make a cold air intake that uses the powercore filter media, OR, do they make a powercore filter replacemement for their regular housing that is available on these trucks. Just wonderin.

Yep...read that. Let's see four screws and a clamp vs all the knuckle busting trying to get that thing around my Banks CAC tubes which ar about 3.5-4 inches in diameter, then very hard to discern as to the quality of the seal of the engine side of the housing after you wrestle that really compliant (NOT) housing back in place. IMHO a REALLY BIG PAIN IN THE ASS!

I know I know...I'm just sayin. With the Banks tubes on there it's a tight squeeze lots of jockying to get stuff lined up. I just don't like the fact that you can't verify the integrity of the seal on the connection between the turbo and the filter housing as being leak free. I am also not a big fan of the gauze filters (although I run an AFE stage 2 on my Dodge...and never have had one speck of dust or dirt past the filter). Seems silly to mod the snorkle to make it easier and then suck a bunch of hot air from under the hood. IDK.:dunno:
