I have had three or four times when after i lock the doors and unlock trying to get in but when i put the key and try to start it doesnt start. I would have to turn the alarm on and off several time shutting and closing the doors and hood till it wanted to start. I was wandering if it was my alarm or truck and how i could check it.

Thanks
Chris

If this has happened only since the install of the alarm, then your alarm was installed improperly. Visit your installer again. If you installed it yourself, take it to someone who knows how to do it.

The alarm has been in the truck for a while. It only recently started doing it. Its been in the truck since i bought it 8 months ago and is only now giving me problems. I dont know the installer of this unit as it was done in a different city.

Is the starter kill built into the alarm or is there an external starter kill relay.

Yes it does have a starter kill in the system.

What make and model system do you have? If you're not sure, look on the back of the remote and read the "FCC ID" number on the back.

PM me or send me an email and I'll try to help you out. I sell and install these all the time, but I'm not a sponsor here (yet. . .) so I don't want to get the management upset /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If the starter kill is built into the brain, it sounds like the alarm needs to be replaced. It could still be a number of things, but is the most likely culprit. A make and model would be helpful. It may be possible to disconnect the internal starter kill and add an external relay to do the job. It depends on what kind of outputs the alarm has.
