My 04 has been bought back, two in a row. I sure like how my truck ran, but the quality control problems and the "normal operation for this type of vehicke" B.S. has gotten old. I never had problems with my Ford trucks prior to the 6.0 models. I guess all things change, and I will change brands too. Ford has lost yet another customer. These boards have been great and I hope all of you will have better luck than I had.

As one who has a career in "quality control" I would like to point out that the problem isn't a quality control issue, but rather a MANAGEMENT BEING TOO CHEAP TO PAY FOR QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE. There's a big difference. I encourage you to blame the cheap execs and their piss-poor leadership for that, because that is exactly where the blame belongs. Somewhere they got the notion that customers aren't willing to pay "extra" for quality control. Hog wash. You paid for it twice and still didn't get it. Cut that executive's bonus and hire a half dozen more inspectors and buy them decent equipment. You would think that Detroit would have learned that from the Japanese car makers in the 1960's.

I hope you find a vehicle that exceeds your expectations, and for the price of a new pickup, you deserve one.
Best of luck to you-

2 6L buybacks, time to move on for sure.

Did FMC CR rep. tell u like me (mid 03) "Mr. X, be assured FMC will fix any/all problems with your 6L "if covered part fails under warr"
Apparently buyback (for some) is the fix? Good luck on new (other) ride.

Good luck with whatever you decide on. Ford bought my 04 back but so far my 06 seems to be ok. Don't know what I would do if I had a second problem truck.

Thanks Clam your right, its all about greed and not caring. I actually considered an 06 until my service writer gave me the golf car tour of the service dept. and it was full of new trucks.

[/ QUOTE ]ditto... i understand what horrible management is all about working for ups. it's working for people like that, ultimately drives a major company right into the ground... my mom knows about these things first hand, working for eastern airlines for 22 years and getting royaly screwed... as you all know, they no longer exist... due to horrible management.

i wish mine was within buyback period, missed by 3 months and 8000 miles. only hope is a breach of warranty settlement at this point.
new turbo is better but in my van it s loud as heck on hard accelerations now. dealers says normal...ughh.

i m also done with fords for now. no more vans, no more navigators.

i dont think ford care s, resale values on 6.0 imo are for crap. my van, which had a sticker of 37 k just 2 years ago, probally wont fetch more than 18 k or so just 24 months/30000 miles later.
