I am ready to start buying "STUFF" for my truck,,,,, but I need to keep within my budget or the wife will hang my "MANSTUFF" from my rear bumper.:bangin:

I know most of the things I want to do and I have looked a bunch of the stuff others have done and proven as good or fair choices.

Have already recieved my Futumo valve and ordered my coolant filter kit. Now I am looking at guages and it seems that there are not as many options for us that have Gray interior as in the area of A-pillar pods. I found one that comes in a kit form on E-bay. I was looking for any real world info if anyone has picked these exact ones up and how do you like them 3 guages and they come with a GRAY A-pillar guage pod.

Here is the link if you wanna see the ones I am talking about.
GRAY 99-06 F350 TRIPLE PILLAR POD + BLACK DIESEL GAUGES

Glow Shift performance gauges, is teh brand name it looks like. Any good, Ok, or just garbage?

Thanks
Matt

I will be back soon(in the next few weeks) on other threads to talk about off common brand name exhaust and other possible items. I know you usually get what you pay for, but not always.
Thanks again

The industry standard is the Autometer Gaugeworks A-Pillar pod, regardless of the brand of your gauges. It comes in black only, but it can be painted to match your interior. Mine has been painted to match my tan interior, and it matches perfectly.

Never heard of them. At that price, probably Chinese junk, but you won't know unless you spend the money and try them.

One big problem with that set is the boost gauge is a lot less than 270° sweep, and it's 60 PSI max. So it's very hard to read at a glance in the critical area of 20 to 25 PSI. You want a boost gauge with 270° sweep and max of 30 PSI. The red line is 25 PSI, so you never need more than 30 PSI on the gauge (unless you spend $10,000 on engine mods to produce more than 400 ponies).

If it were me, I'd save up a few more shekels and get name-brand gauges - ISSPRO or Autometer. I love my ISSPRO EV, and the new versions are even better. But the full kit will cost about $330 from
ISSPRO Gauge Kits for Ford Powerstroke from DieselManor
Talk to David about the color of the gauge pod. He'll fix you up. Note that kit includes all the bits and pieces you'll need for the install. The E-Bay kit doesn't include all those bits and pieces, so you'll be spending time and money at the hardware store to get it all installed.

I know you usually get what you pay for, but not always.
Do you feel lucky today? :wink2:

Yep your right. I agree with all you said there, I guess I just wanted to hear it from someone else.

Ok, I will use the bike for commuting more till I can save the extra cash to buy the good stuff.

Already ordered my coolant filter kit so next pay check will be tranny filter and then following pay check should be guage kit, next intake then exhaust and then DPtuner and so on.

Thanks for the info, suggestions, experience and clarification.
Again thanks and I am sure I will be back for more education.:read:

Thanks
Matt

The ISSPROs are our top selling gauge. They match your stock instruments better than anything on the market. I have them in my 2001 7.3L and if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing, and I can have any gauge that I want. I do like their new EV2 line. All of the new EV2s use a stepper motor needle movement, which is noce. The thing that i like most about this line is that there are over 35 different gauges you can have. If you want to add more gauges later, it's probably avaiable. HPOP, ele Fuel pressure, ft diff, rear diff, Exh. backpressure... the list goes on. Becasue it's a new line we are getting a lot of questions about them. If anyone has any questions please don't hessitate to give us a call. We'll be glad to help.
