I have a question about the high idle mod which I intend to do once my upfitter switches arrive. My truck is a job 1 and I have not done any flash updates

I have read the write up (Sticky) from SmokeyWren along with other write ups but I still have a few questions.

There seems to be two ways to perform the mod
. https://www.fleet.ford.com/truckBBAS...tml/Q162R1.pdf Depending which wire you connect to the upfitter switch.

I understand flipping the upfitter switch is required along with the condition stated below.
  1. Parking brake applied.
  2. Foot off of service brake
  3. Vehicle in PARK (automatic trans.)
  4. Foot off of clutch (manual trans.)
  5. Foot off of accelerator pedal
  6. Vehicle speed is 0 mph (stationary)
  7. Brake lights functional
  8. Engine at a stable base idle speed
1. One way to raise the idle to high idle is using electrical load for example : hydraulic pumps, generators, air compressors; or maintain vehicle battery charge under extreme electrical demands. No electrical load no high idle. Using BCPSW wire Purple/Brown

2. The other way to raise idle to high idle 1200 RPM by flipping the upfitter switch, regardless if there is an electrical load. Using PTO wire Yellow/Green

I have read on this site that running at idle could/will cause engine problems. My question is; since I use my truck at idle frequently with no electrical loads, should I use option 2 to minimize engine damage risk?

Am I reading the schematics correctly, or am I way off course?

Any feedback is welcome.

Hook it to the yellow and green wire to get the 1250 RPM.

The BCP purple wire only gets to 900 under normal electrical draw.

On mine I used the yellow & green wire and hooked to to the upfitter switch and that is all. Takes 5 minutes. - Done.

Also when using the PTO the OBD monitoring is turned off.

I believe option #2 will lock in the TC when idling @ 1200 rpm's and above.

Thanks for the clarification .... I will use option 2 the yellow and green wire connected to the AUX #4, that's when my upfitter switches arrive.
