Hi, I'm new here. I just bought an 04 6.0 with 62,000 miles on wed. Everything seems to be great but it misses or cuts out around 2000 rpm's usually under load. I pulled the egr valve and cleaned it, but it still does it. Could the valve be bad? Could the cooler be plugged? I plan on doing a complete delete kit, but would like it fixed until i have the money to do that. Thanks

and when it is cutting out, it blows black smoke. the truck is bone stock.

also, ive read other posts with similar problems, but they seem to have been towing a load. any help would help

Sounds like a bad egr valve or possibly a weak injector....

I think you guys might be right as I went out tonight, and unplugged the egr, and the truck ran fine. It also felt like it had a little more pep to it as well.
