did they pull codes?

look for a cat?

Your buddy John went through, came by here to check for codes first...we cleared one code, boost circuit A..blah, blah...he said they didn't even hook up a scan tool, just a visual I think, but they might have (incorrectly) put the sniffer on it...

Log onto the TDOT page and read, and PRINT a copy of the procedure for diesel inspections...

The TDOT page clearly says that the diesel requirements are satisfied as long as there are no emission codes stored in the PCM...they are only supposed to hook up an OBDII reader, no sniff...seems the techs aren't even clear on what to do... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I worked for a company in Memphis with a fleet of 95-03 PSD vans.
We would run them through inspection and most of the time they just did the saftey stuff.
Once or twice they used a sniffer, but I don't think they were supposed to.
They always passed and no inspector ever looked underneath or plugged anything in.
Heck, even on gas burners, I never ran one through Memphis that they were concerned about. Either it passed the sniffer or it didn't...

Ratio, good to know. I'm dreading all the codes I have in the black truck, what with the EBPV gutted, the previous owner taking the cat off /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif and all...

Our help has a 95 with Stage I's and a 4" straght pipe infront of rear wheel, not sure what all they checked but he passed no problem. They didnt check for a cat I dont think. If they did they didnt know what to look for.
