This switch with the one wire coming out of it right next to the EOT sensor and oil filter popped on my truck and pumped most of the oil out while on the freeway. There was so much oil everywhere, I didnt think it could pump that much out of that switch.

Has this happend to anyone and how much oil did you lose?

At idle mine will make about a ten inch puddle under the truck in about ten seconds!! Its a gyser.

Did a new switch stop the leak? Ive read that after an oil cooler replacement, these go bad and some guys replace multiple switches back to back and they just keep failing.

I've seen them leak, esp the aftermarket ones. Be interesting to see if they were using OEM or not. If it popped in tow shouldn't it of lost signal and shut down the truck?

From what I read, the FICM doesn't use that switch signal for anything - just a glorified idiot light. As long as there is about 6# oil pressure, it will look normal to the OP gauge.

As long as there is enough oil supplying the HPOP, it will run until the oil is gone.
