Wondering thoughts on the system good or bad? Also they claim the stock filter only filters like 100 microns and there spin on will take it down to about 22 microns. I want to add a coolant filter just not sure about a tranny filter..

I am thinking about getting one also. I figure it may save the tranny if the torque converter goes out.

Yeah according to Baldwin Filters the pan filter is more like a screen. I also like the idea of running more filters in general like when you see a big bad azz diesel motor they filter everything. I know on the 6.0 that everyone International put out had a coolant filter installed but ford didnt carry it over to the trucks. Is this also true about the 6.4?

'05-07 are a screen '08 up are filters..earlier trucks should upgrade.

If you have a pre '08 replace the pan and stupid screen with a real filter and the '08 up pan.

Should cost less than $150

I've had the filter on for over a year now, I also have the optional pressure gauge on the filter housing, so I can tell when it's getting clogged.

Well I know Im in the wrong section. 7.3L guy here. But I have both and have had them on my truck for the last 180K. No issues, I felt it was worth the money. Others may say different. Ive never seen the gauge get to the " danger" zone. I replace the trans filter every 15k though. Cheap insurance if you ask me.
So in short 8 years on being on the truck, the transmission filter housing, gauge and branded lines have held up very well. Coolant filter, I ended up replacing some of the hoses from Napa. More heavy duty. Just my 2 cents.
