Injector Help

Hello all. Not new to the forum. Had to re-establish my account for some reason so I lost all my old posts.

I'm looking for some help deciphering codes that showed up on my '00 PSD after a scan with Autoenginuity. Long story short - motorhome developed a miss in the spring. With help from folks on here, determined that I had a hole in a piston. Rebuilt the bottom end. Put new O-rings on the injectors but didn't replace them. Didn't touch the heads. Rig has 100K on it. Now engine will start but is only running on 5 or 6 cylinders. I've read that this can happen because of air in the high pressure oil rail and that I should take it out and drive it for 45 minutes or so to "burp" the air. But the rig doesn't have enough power to back out of it's parking space so I can't drive it down the road. It's got about an hour of idle time sitting in the driveway.

Got my autoenginuity Ford upgrade today and did a buzz test. All 8 injectors buzzed and sounded similar. Trouble codes that it showed were as follows:

P1272 Cylinder #2 High to Low Side Open
P1276 Cylinder #6 High to Low Side Open
P1292 Injector High Side Short to GRD or VBATT - Bank 2
P1293 Injector High Side Open - Bank 1
P1294 Injector High Side Open - Bank 2

I can do the greasy mechanical work but this electronic stuff is not my thing. Can anyone help me decipher what these codes mean?

check the electrical connections under the valve cover and at the valve cover itself. Maybe something wasn't put together all the way.

Your first two codes indicate the wires have a break - like greenskeeper 79 said, probably at a connector. The P1292 indicates the common wire (the center wire) is shorted to ground or to 12+ positive. The last two codes indicate that common wire is disconnected on both banks between the injectors and the IDM. Those two codes contradict the P1292.

I suspect one or more of those codes were set by turning the key on during the repair. I would clear all codes and see what comes back. I would do this after triple checking the connections at the inner and outer valve cover gasket, every injector connection, and checking for chaffed wires on the 42 pin harness connector over the driver's side valve cover.

Fixed! I had installed new Dorman valve cover gaskets that have the integrated wiring harness. A couple of the wires were pinched between the valve cover and the gasket on Bank 2 and had rubbed through grounding out. I installed a new gasket and now it purrs like a kitten.
