I am getting things together to replace an rear axle seal. I have the ford p/n for the socket. I would like to stay away from the stealer if at all possible. Any one have a napa or carquest p/n(description) for the socket I need to take the axle locknut off?

thanks

It is clearly labeled for Ford four stud/nutch locking nut on parts store packaging. $25-$45

You don't want the one with 4 studs/notches. The rear axle locknut is a hex. But it should still be labeled for the application. It will have a center tube that pilots inside the axle tube.

You can probably find them on the web using the Ford #. Most of Ford's special tools are made by OTC. Others have copied them and sell for less $$ than OTC/FORD brand.
