Looking for opinions on replacing a bad injector. Symptons, rough idle and loss of power, service engine soon light comes on while driving but no codes set. Checked connector on valve covers and no burned pins. I ohmed out all 8 injectors (analog meter, batteries dead in digital) and 7 were all about 2/3 ohms, number 1 was very high (will recheck with digital to get actual resistance). I was assuming a bad solenoid or could it be in the wiring? If it is a bad injector would it be wise to replace all 4 on that bank while it is apart (170k miles). Any suggestions on quality remans? Mylex, Pensacola, Diesel Care, board sponsor, new Ford, other? This is a stocker used for daily driving and pulling a trailer. Thanks in advance

First you need to have your truck scanned and get your codes before you condemn an injector. If your check engine light is coming on there will be codes, but most scanners will not read our trucks.

Yep, what he said.

You'll need a scan tool that will run injector buzz and cylinder contribution tests. You may be looking at just a bad UVC harness, so check closer before you commit to replacing one or more injectors. If it's really a bad injector, with your mileage, I might be inclined to go with 4.

If you take the oil filler cap off you can smell in the valve cover for a burnt smell incase it is a burnt harness. The smell can travel in the oil even if other side of engine has burnt harness. This is not 100% true in all cases as you may not smell a burnt harness but if you do smell the burntness than yes you have a harness/connector burnt. If you ever take valvecovers off than you can check the harness / the oil spouts/the base of injector for bubbles which shows o rings bad on injector/poppet screw for being loose which causes bad miss. A scanner will help show things before pulling covers
