What are your guys opinions? I have a 1993 Ford F350 4x4 Idi Non Turbo. Im wondering should i use the banks non wastegated turbo or buy a used holset turbo? Which Holset do i look for? will they bolt right in like the banks kit will or do i have to do all kinds of fabricating? and will the holset put out to much boost for my engine? Any other info that you guys have will be much appreciated. Also which is best cost wise?

Just my opinion

But I would think that any system built for the IDI is better than piecing together parts. If you buy a used Holset, your gonna be in the fabrication business too. If your set on a used turbo system then just watch E-bay and CL for a complete system. That way if you are missing any parts, the fabrication might not be overwhelming. If you don't mind getting new then ATS might still make the Aurora system, and Hypermax still makes the "Pulse" system..Might be a bit more up front than you wanted to spend, but all the parts are gonna be there.

yeah i got a good deal lined up on a used kit. I ordered the manual from banks today so hopefully i can get that and check out what im buying to see what is there and what is not. Do you have any experience with the crossover pipes on the banks non wastegated system? as far as Having one for an E40D, changed into fitting a ZF5? Thanks.

Space for equipment and other incomes have made it where I don't do a lot of fabrication. Sorry, because lots of cutomers ask me if I would start. I suppose if I was "forced" to, I could.

My main source of "other" income is in the repair end and special coatings (powdercoating) of small parts and rims.

I know you weren't thinking of having me do the fab.

I was just saying that my fabrication experience is not nearly as much as my repair experience. My truck came from the factory with the turbo and all I did was change some components to make it better. What one person would consider a PITA is a piece of cake to others. I think that most any obstacle you have mentioned so far is not that big of a deal.
