New here, first post. I'm buying an 05 F-350, stoked to have a tow rig for my rock crawler. Here's the dilema: The new rig has an aftermarket 4" exhaust (turbo back), the little Banks six position switch on the dash, and a bracket for the PDA but no PDA. Nothing under the hood, all looks stock. Here's my questions:

1) If I leave it like it is, will she run ok?
2) From what my research tells me, if I buy the PDA, the only way I can really get anything out of it is exhaust AND intake. So I need to be looking at intake and turbo upgrades?
3) I'm wondering why this truck has both the six postion switch AND the PDA...

Sorry if I'm posting "noob" stuff, but I wanna know what I'm getting into with this truck before I sign on the dotted line. Diesel is all new to me, being a Chevy 350 guy all my life...

Not much love for Banks here unfortuneately. Check out their website and talk to someone there about your situation.

The PDA is just a fancy monitoring device it adds no power. What you are missing or need is the Banks 6 Gun brain and Speed Loader add on with EGT probe. You may look in the drivers manifold and see of the EGT probe is still there. I had a full Banks 6 gun with speed loader on my 04 Harley. I loved it!
I use SCT with ID tunes on my 05. It is just faster to plug and flash with SCT. I think the Banks is safer since it monitors EGT, trans slip etc itself.

I don't know the answers to your questions, but from MANY posts I've read, the general conscensus seems to be that the stock intake is good and does not need to be replaced until you're trying to get wicked HP. For a truck with only a few mods, I don't think it's worth doing the intake upgrade.
