OK guys, by birthday is next month and I think I'm gonna ask the Mrs. for a tuner. I called Banks and got a price of $760 for their 6 Gun tuner. Is their stuff better than anyone elses? I'm not looking for huge power, just a little extra for towing (and my ego). What do you guys recommend. I don't mind spending the money if Banks is worth it, but if they have the same stuff as everyone else I'll pass. Let the recommendations begin:)

PS.
I don't want to change anything else on the truck....I do have a full set of guages thanks to the fellas at www.dieselmanor.com.

dgreen1069,

Scroll to the bottom of this page and take a look at the EZ for the 6.0 from Edge. We sell quite a few of these and everyone seems to like them. They are priced right, easy to install, offer reasonable gains and run with very low EGT's.

Give us a call, PM or e-mail for pricing. JS.

Banks... their products work! They have been around for a very long time... I love my six gun tuner and speed loader...very well worth the money....why try to save 100 bucks for a product that doesnt offer as much saftey for your 40 - 50,000 dollar truck? Just my .02 cents....

I called Banks up and ask them what do they do when you are denied warranty from Ford. They told me that they have people on staff who will help you out as far as warranty. I do not know to what extent they will go, but I think you are paying more than the safety features of there products.

I don't want to start anything, this is just a simple question.....

Can you use ALL of the six positions on your dial and still get GOOD shifting out of the Auto Tranny??

Thanks,
Dave

Go with the SCT from Innovative. If you don't like a parameter, you can have a change made and emailed to you. I have been running the SCT extreme, and it makes too much power than it sounds like you are wanting. SCT can be fully customized to what you want, and nothing seems to work on an auto tranny better than the SCT. It shifts perfect. I am on my second tranny, the first went out after using a competitors product for too long. Unless it controls the tranny, you do not want it.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING 6-GUN ON AUTO EQUIPPED PSD:

Step 1: position a piece of cardboard below vehicle.

Step 2: crawl onto cardboard directly below transmission

Step 3: lean up towards tranny pan.. proceed to kiss and caress transmission. Spend quality time with it as you will seal it's death on levels 4-6 due to extra power without compensation for transmission.

Step 4: secure refinance of vehicle at lending instituion to pay for new transmission.

Step 5: proceed with installation.

If you are concerned with warranty use SCT or other flash device. The Banks splices wires and drills holes in the dash the dealer will see. The SpeedLoader is a must for the 6Gun. Just make sure you get a conseervative tune nothing insane if you want to keep it reliable.

you can mount the dial anywhere, you don't have to drill into the dash....I'm sure with any tuner, your dealer will be able to tell if you have one on by hookin' up their computer..... You take the risk of canceling your warrenty when you install anything aftermarket, as long as you know that, I don't think it's that big of a deal.
