I dont know what to make of this....the other day one of my batteries went out...it was old. So I got a new, installed it truck started right up. drove down to the store and noticed when I started it again, it was straining a little.

Had some more things to do, drove around and noticed my amp gauge kept going further and further Negative. Turned the truck off and tried to start and it almost did not start. Decided to head to house, by the time I got home gauge was a 8 almost bottomed out. Tested the batteries and sure enough they where almost drained....so that tells me my alternator was out. so I thought. Let it set over the Holiday and charged the batteries. While I was under there made sure all my connection where tight at all the electrical points under the Hood.

Was getting ready to go get an alternator and just tried to start the truck. Started right up and amp gauge went up just like it was charging....turned it off and started a couple of times went on a 10 mile drive, with radio, lights and everything on. Amp gauge still showing charging.

Got back home and stop and started, it worked fine....I am like what hell. So at the moment I am glad I dont have to fork over the dough for an alternator....but something had to wrong and drained the batteries while driving...

If you just replaced one, you need to go out & get another & replace the other too. THEY MUST BE REPLACED AS A SET. Think of them as one big battery, not two separate batteries. Failure to do so will cause you to be swapping batteries on a very frequent rotation.
