What is your guys thoughts on this set up of injectors for a truck that will be used for pulling? Would like to hear all the pros and cons. The truck is only going to be used for pulling, 1/4 mile, and Sunday truck, no trailers or work, it's retired! I got big oil a HX50 and a South Bend DD! One of the main question is, whats your thoughts on going bigger on the nozzles? Thanks! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

I am not familiar with LPM. We use the Term KG/m when using Extrude Hone. A stock 7 hole nozzle flows 1.055 KG/m. The largest nozzle that we have done to date was 2.1 KG/m. That equates to 110% increase in flow over stock. They run really well in the truck that they are in, but it is like you said, strictly a pulling truck. Kinda smokey, but you can tune it out for your Sunday drive. Typically street trucks we only go about 30% on the 7 hole nozzles.

Those sound like Dynamite Diesel injectors. They are the only vendor that I have seen use this method of quantitating the flow rate. Ross of DDP said it was less subject to manipulation than other methods.

Stock injectors can vary from 18 to 22 LPM IIRC. So 28 LPM injectors would be ~50% greater flow than stock.

Plulling only, go to 35 LPM and stoke the hell out of those BD's, 400+cc and find an hx-82 to start to clean up the fuel. Better leave the line somewhere north of 4000+RPM if you want it to spool.

I have no idea what a HX-82 charger is like, but I know my 1500 cfm Sledgehammer was no where close to clearing up the smoke from my little 230cc hybrids.

400+cc is a ridiculous amount of fuel. Try the BD with that nozzle, and you can always add more fuel if you can ever find a charger set-up that works for you.

Thanks for the info guys, So that you know when I got my nozzles done at web page They told me that they only go by lpm and that 28lpm should be around .009 to .0095 I think. I already have the nozzles so I will be putting them on and we will see what they do. I had them on a 250cc stroked aa codes, and I couldn't clean them up with stock turbo, but that don't mean a whole lot!

Uncool,
What is that turbo off of and do you know anyone that is running one? If it is as big as I think, sounds to me like it would be hard to keep spooled with out some drugs?

Shaw,

I don't know what it would normally be found on, most likely industrial gen set or equipment.

If this helps - HX80 1.3kg/s ~ 176lb/m do not know CFM
HX82 1.5kg/s ~ 203lb/m ~ 2450 CFM

If I remember right, Maddog is running something real close to that for his atmosphere turbo.

There are nozzles available that flow 3.206 kg/m out the box, and there NEW.

Are those 7 hole nozzles?? That is a crazy amount of fuel. Better have a real big turbo.
