For those of you that want to disable the Beltminder on an '06, but the directions in the manual didnt work, here's why. The book is WRONG.

After trying everything to get to it to work, I finally gave up and went to my dealership to have a tech bring up the instructions that they have in the computer. Here they are:

Truck in Park (or neutral for the handshakers)
Doors closed
Headlights off

Turn the key on, but do not start engine.
Wait approx 1 min until the seatbelt light turns off.
latch and unlatch the seatbelt NINE times, leaving it unlatched.
The seatbelt indicator light will come on.
Within 10 seconds of the light coming on, buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt once, leaving it unlatched.

The seatbelt light will flash quickly for about 4 seconds

And, you're done. No more annoying seatbelt minder when you're hopping in and out of the truck trying to hook up a trailer.

And when you do exactly that, and the light never comes on, then what?

I've buckled and unbuckled the belt until I'm blue in the face and that SOB
light never comes back on. According to the service DVD, the next step is to replace
the cluster. It might need replacing after I put a 44 magnum through it...

A couple of times a week, I drive to work, back into the parking space, use my right hand
to put it in park. Reach down with the same hand and unhook the seat belt and
that damn beltminder starts going off. It's really pissing me off already.

Honestly, I love the truck but I HATE THAT FRIGGIN BELTMINDER /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Do a search for my user ID. I posted a message a while back on beltminder that worked for me.

Jerry, been there done that, didn't work. Got to be something wrong with the cluster
in my truck, that's the only explanation I can come up with.
