I am due for batteries in the trusty steed but my battery cables need replaced too. I am afraid to ask Ford what the cost of replacement cables are (especialy the long double cable one). Does anyone know of a reasonable place to get new cables. Thanks.

You may be able to have some made at a truck parts/repair place, I know they can crimp the good ends on but I'm not positive about the double cable end.
I'm shure if they could it would be cheaper than the dealer.

an electrical wholesale house or welding supply place will be able to crimp ends on also. can use a battery clamp with a screw post on it and just drop the terminals on the ends of the crimped cables down on thoose. either way you go it aint gonna be cheap.

Another option for battery cables would be your local farm tactor dealer of a farm Co-Op if you have one in your area. They will have all the right ends as a lot of tractors require two battries, esp. Jihn deer 4020's. They have been the best and most inexpensive source I've found./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

or a semi tractor repair place--most of them can make any batt cable you need--and MOST of them are very resonable--

Thank you bugman, I'll give that a shot. I heard the big cable from the "friendly" Ford dealer was around $150 so that is a good savings.
