just bought a superchips 1805 model. its the same model number i think for your 6.0 . i was just lookinn for a littl more power for towinn, but after installinn this tuner the truck seems as fast as my 86 5.0 gt mustang. pluss i picked up 2 mpgs too. where i bought mine he told me he would not install one on the 6.0s, something about the head bolts would not take the extra power. on my 7.3 it sure woke mine up big time. now i have to do a coulple of other mods, to keep mine from blowinn up. i think you will be ok with a tuner if you have guages and watch them, with my intake mod and exhaust mods i never see any high temps. have fun.

You will get a lot of opinions on this, but mileage will vary on many factors...gears, tires, driving habits etc.
I bought the SCT Xcal2 from Innovative Diesel for more than mileage. They offer excellent customer service and the unit makes the truck shift so much better. I don't have the economy tune, but on the street tune I see 4+ on the highway and around 1 city mpg. The added power is unbelievable and makes the truck fun to drive. Your mileage may suffer initially because its hard to stay off the go pedal when you're leaving Honda's in the dust. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

There are two parts....1st, a tunable product, like SCT will let you get the attributes you want, but keep in mind that the main battle is not the programmer you use....its the wire from your brain to the go pedal. You can take 4-5 MPG off your optimum with a heavy foot. Just try one tank and beat the piss out of it, WOT at almost every light, etc. Then do another tank and really go easy on her. Nice smooth take offs, keep RPMS below 3000 (2500 if you can), build a little speed on down hills, lose a litte on up hills, etc. A bone stock 6.0 will see a large change in these two experiments, which will be more than any tuner can save you.....

Not saying a tuner won't help; it will, but with a heavy foot, a lot of your expected gains will not materialize,

My example is pretty close to a bone stock truck (only adder is a power elbow at present). Easy on the go-pedal gives me around 13.1. Squeeking the tires at stoplights, 80mph on the highway (vs 65), and generally heavy on the pedal gives me about 12.8. No check Engine lights, so the dealer thinks this is 'normal' economy. Probably going to a tune to get some of my economy back. Really didn't want to. So I'm looking for real world mpg numbers on a tuned truck vs. before it was tuned.
FWIW - granitelli motor sports has an ad for guarenteed 3mpg upgrade. I'm not sure if you get fries with that..... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
