I am looking for the best bang and performance for the buck. Please vote in the poll if you have personal experience. Also, I am not interested in a HID conversion. Thank you.

Bump ... I thought quite a few members had one of these mods.

I went from 01 heads with silverstars to 05 heads with the dfuser harness and silverstars and the light output is much better.

Not sure if the difference is as much on an 04 since you already have the clear headlamp housings.

Will the Hellas with harness melt the existing light housing?

I upgraded my '04's harness and initially used Silverstars for 2 months but got tired of them burning out. I then upgraded the bulbs to PIAA 9007's and did the Resistor mod to keep lows and high on at the same time when high beams are activated... That setup isn't bad but still not equivalent to the Xenons in my wifes BMW or My Mercedes.

Hard to beat 80/100 hellas but you have to get a headlight harness.

[/ QUOTE ]Ditto. This is the combination I use and it works great. I hoped the Hella's would outlast the silverstars but it appears I get a little more than a year out of them. I do not use the auto feature on the headlights and drive with them on nearly all the time. I make sure I do not turn them on before the glowplugs go out and turn them off before shutting down. Despite all these precautions the bulbs lasted only 14-15 months. In terms of hours, I am sure I am getting my money's worth.
