I'm on the home stretch of EGR cooler, oiler and turbo replacement. It's been a long project with only a couple hours here and there to work on it. This forum has been a great resource. Thank you guys for all the great posts and responses to my dumb questions.
The new Turbo instructions say to pour some oil into the oil supply port, attach oil supply line and then crank engine without starting until there is oil pressure. Then start and idle for several minutes.
What's the best way to guarantee crank-no start. Can I just pull the fuse(s) on the FICM or fuel pump? It seems to me like disconnecting the FICM would be best since would allow both the oil and fuel systems to build pressure. What do you guys think? Anything else that requires caution on start up?
