Hello ALL I have a 03 F350 7.3

I have been using Bio Diesel for the last 3 weeks through 3 tanks and the stuff works absolutly perfect.

I was wondering if there were any negatives that you have herd other than changing out your fuel filter for the first couple of months/

I literally pay less than a $dollar$ a gallon. It smells like KFC/BBQ out of my exaughst.

Let me know what if any negatives you have all herd

Thanks

Kris

Ever skimmed the fat off of the Au jus by putting it in the refrigerator overnight and letting it solidify? Same thing can happen with waste vegetable oil. Don't plan any trips North during the winter with that fuel. LOL. It will give a whole new meaning to "waxing up".

I run it when I can get it. Great stuff, engine is so quiet when running B100 (or close to it) that I often look down to see if the engine shut off. Fuel economy suffers somewhat, but for the price you pay for the actual fuel who cares. Never had a cold weather issue with it, but I know it is possible. Just takes a little planing ahead is all.

There is an Alternative Fuel section to this forum, check it out.

This is very important! BioD degrades rubber. Keep an extra seal for your fuel filter with you. Your seal will degrade and will spray your engine compartment with lots of fuel. It happened to me. The only way to get around this is to get a Viton seal, I don't know where you would get it from. Another option is to run BioD50%, dinoD50%. I would love to run B100, I just don't have time to collect the WVO. Best of Luck.

BIO can degrade rubber, yes, That is why many stations don't handle it yet. IT takes different equipment to pump it. Bio is made from crops,,right? Veggie is waste oil from restaurants, it does not harm your fuel system or seals I don't think.

Either you reused the gasket, or put it on wrong. I ran bio for a long time and never once did that seal show signs of wear from bio diesel. I did once spray my engine with diesel when that gasket let go, but it was dino diesel and not bio, and it was a cheap piece of junk Napa filter cap.

Same here, that's why I did the hood insulation delete. I have run bio, and the only time I have seen it "degrade rubber" was because it cleaned it and caused leaks. Same reason we have seen so many fuel drain o-ring leaks with ULSD. It is cleaner.

Bio-diesel is great, but there is a performance loss when running a highly modified engine. I noticed less smoke, but when switching through my settings upon acceleration there was no difference between switching from my 120 setting to my 140 setting when there normally is a noticeable difference upon running straight diesel. FWIW. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

well I ran bio for a while and my orings (fuel filter) started leaking ..
now the truck is a 99r, but I have seen a lot of oring leaks and bio diesel users...maybe the new orings work better maybe it was just time for them to go ? knows but it did shy me away for a bit.

though fuel prices are starting to make me want to try again.
