hey i have a edge evolution cts race with dpf delete, run it on #2. on take off just normal acc pretty decent cloud of black smoke, so i put it on to stock setting and i still get the same amount of smoke and it seems a little doggy of the start, is the black smoke normall with a dpf gone. i used to run a 2000 7.3 and never seen black smoke unless under hard acc.thanks for any help or info

black smoke indicates an over fueling problem.

I don't know much about the tuner you are using though. I would call them and speak to them.

At a stock setting and not a heavy throttle I don't think you should see any.

Have you checked your oil?

Black smoke good, white smoke bad. It can also be the place you're putting diesel. Some service stations don't run oxygenated diesel yet. Be careful that'll harm the injectors.
