Black smoke

most of us spend big bucks and a lot of time trying to achieve black smoke...not get rid of it...throw out that black smoke with pride... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif.....but really, if your truck is stock and you are getting black smoke then i would check the air filter like already mentioned...also may be a good idea to get some guages and see what your boost levels are at. guages are a good investment if you pull anything and are looking to mod your truck. good luck

You might want to drop your Emergency Brake and see if there is a Chip installed. Could be the reason for your smoke if your filters are OK...

what guages are good for the truck and chip? i checked the air filter looks good. 1 thing i can say is this psd is the best i every had iam so used to my 91 reg 7.3. whish i would have done this years ago but did want the payments lol

you can get guages a lot of different places. i got mine from mark craig at DPPI, but dale isley from tymar can set you up too just as easy. i went with the autometer z-series guages because they look closest to stock in my opinion. you'll definitely want boost and a pyro guage and a tranny temp guage depening if you have an auto or not. theres a lot of different options so look around before you buy.
as for the chip...a lot of the guys here will recommend a TS chip...which is what i would also recommend. ive also had good results out of US gear chips, but they dont make them anymore. its nice to have the TS chip though with a 4 or 6 postion switch for different settings /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
