OK,

SO at this point I have replaced a fuel pump, as well as added an external relay to run said fuel pump, as I was having issues in the fuse panel. I have a rebuilt FICM and now a rebuilt Turbo as well.

She has been running well, and other than a little bit of blueish smoke still around, I have not had any issues. Other than how fast I am burning through diesel now with fresh boost!

Last night something happened, and now the truck will run great at idle, but when accelerating she is holding back. And at about 2200 RPM it feels like I have hit a rev limiter. The revs bounce a couple times, and I can hear the boost blowing off in the Air cleaner. Feels like Im not getting boost.

CAC tube connected at intercooler as well as at the turbo, and visually all other connections are good. What I cannot see is under the air cleaner. I assume that connection is fine, but its been raining and I cant get it apart to check for sure. Is this a possible VGT issue? Or am i missing something more basic?

Still learning this truck, but I think im to a point where this Rig should be in good shape. Wondering now if my next purchase should be an EDGE CT2 monitor....

Check your MAP sensor connection and hose (make sure there are no cracks or leaks in the hose).

Compare the MAP and Baro readings at KOEO.

Thanx Bismic..

Turns out the seal that seats the unison ring arm in the centre section may be the issue. It is not something that can be delt with in the standard turbo rebuild. The builder tried to tighten the arm to stop the leaking, so it has likely seized part way through, once the turbo got real hot, and will not actuate the veins at all... so the turbo is stuck in situ. A new centre section, shaft, turbine wheel.. billet wheel bearings etc will be sorted out.

This was the location of the oil leak before and after the rebuild as well..

Looking forward to having a new, and improved turbo!!
