yes it would. they don't defuel or set a code like the SD's do but the signal gets scrambled on some trucks in high boost.

The OBS version is a blowoff valve or pressure regulator installed pre-sensor in the MAP line. Some people can get 40lbs of boost without a CEL, others less (25 for me...22 for someone else etc etc)
The SD version is an electronic gizmo.
