No, it's not turning up the volume. GMC has add for the Sierra focusing on the Bose stereo that senses engine noise and reduces the engine sound by using counter frequencies.
Anybody heard ( no pun intended ) of this before?

GM has that in some of their vehicles for awhile now. My cousin had a cobalt 2005 and he had that. His radio wasn't a bose though. After a couple years, volume would go down when slowing down but not go up automatically or would not go down automatically when slowing down but keep rising on acceleration

BOSE has been a leader in this technology and it is used in their noise cancelling headphones. It would be interesting to hear it in an open environment like speakers rather than just headphones.

They had even experimented using a similar algorithm technology with vehicle shocks/struts about 10 years back.
