Wow, better not get in a hurry trying to cross a busy intersection, you will get ran over!! Throttle response?? Whats that?? LOL I'm use to it now but it took a couple of days.

Was the cylinder head bolt locations and bolt the only changes to the 07? Any turbo changes it seems very quite but the engine at idle is like my old 7.3.

I love it! The truck has awesome passing power, drives great and so far I'm getting 17.4 mpg fiqured by hand.

If you roll through the pedal instead of stomping it you will get better results...they don't like it when floored from a stop...something about the computer...someone with more knowledge can chime in te particulars. If I'm jumpin out on the road in heavy traffic and such...I'll powerbrake it to build up some torque/rpms...it'll launch ya then

Can't answer the other question...congrats on the new ride!!
glad you like it...I love my '06!!

Nature of the diesel powerplant. Until the turbo kicks in, starts at about 1250 rpm ) this beast is a dog.

I understand, it just seems like obbious programing feature and caught me off guard a couple of times. I was just use to my 02 7.3.

This by no means is a negative thread about my truck. This is a good one. Everyone always says you never read about people coming on here and saying "my truck is running awsome!!"

I also like the tow / haul mode! I wonder if it changes the performance of the engine when in tow / haul mode?

Plus I can't get over the steering!! I will be turning into my carport and get halfway in, making sure I don't hit the wall and realize I have more steering left!!

Only thing I wish is if there was something I could do to keep the truck from de-fueling from stops like that and not half to worry about Ford warrantty.

Have the same thing with my 07. You need a calender to time it off the line! I've tried all the tips about rolling on the throttle slow then faster, steady, slow, etc, stomping on it and such but none seem to really make any difference. Might make you feel a little more involved but it all takes the same time from a stop for me. You can power brake and get a little better response but I worry about doing that all day everyday in city traffic. Would hate to trash my transmission with all that heat build up. Mostly I've learned to anticipate traffic as best I can and get the rpm's building just before I need them. For the most part it seems like nothing much happens until the rpm's get up to 1800, then the boost seems to start and about 2000rpm's it really gets up and goes! I do love the steering, I can make u turns as short as some small cars!!! So far I have 6500 miles, no problems! Worst tank: 5mpg. Best tank:10mpg. Love this truck though! Good luck out there!

I drive about 50 miles each way to work everyday and set the cruise on 63-65 mph. Every week the fuel mileage has been getting better. Today accourding to the computer I am getting 18.7 mpg. I know that doesn't say much but so far the computer has been real close to the fiqures when I do them by hand.

I am really enjoying this truck.

I had a scare last night though!! I was driving down the hwy and all of a sudden. The loudest high pitch noise you had ever heard, started coming from the rear of the truck. I pull over into a parking lot get out and look. Sure enough it is coming from my rear drivers side. I tried backing-up and seeing if it might be a rock or something. Looked all around and couldn't find anything. So I decide to just head towards home where I can look better! On the way home i noticed it got worse when I turned to the right. So I start fearing it is an axle bearing!!
I get a mile from the house, it stops!! LOL

Jack the truck up check the wheels axle play and found nothing wrong. I guess it was just a rock that I couldn't see in the dark, from under the truck in the parking lot I pulled over in.
