I was hauling a load and being followed by a friend who pointed out that my brake lights are not overriding my flashers, so when I stop with my 4 ways on, I have no brake lights (the CHMSL still comes on, but the other 2 don't stop flashing). Is this normal for these trucks? I thought it was required that the brake lights take priority for these.

Not a panic situation, but I did a little research and couldn't find anything on it myself. Maybe someone else has dealt with this too...

Is this just on the trailer, or on the truck too? Do the trailer brake lights work when the flasher isn't on?

Lights to the trailer are fused, might be a bad fuse or two.

No trailer connected when it was noticed, just normal truck lights. Since then, I compared it to a 99 F150, which did the same thing - 4 ways override the brake lights for the rear lights, with the chmsl being the only brake indicator.
