My son and I just recently replaced the Flex Plate on our 2002 F-450. It was making a rattling and chattering noice at idle. This repair only cost us $80.00 for us to fix.
The truck had been setting for quite awhile, and not started up over the past winter. After replacing the Flex Plate, we fired the engine up, no more noice, but the brake pedal would slowly go to the floor. As fae as pumping on it to get it to come back up, it would do that, but not stay up until we drove it up the street. The rest of the day we have had a good pedal. The son has driven the truck a couple of days now, but has not said anything else about the brake issue. I did though notice the ABS light on the dash was on before he took off with the truck, and the pedal seemed to stay up. Any ideas on what was going on with the brake situation?
