Hey all,
I'm having an issue with what I believe is the brake pressure switch on my 04 6.0. I can't get the tranny from park to drive without pressing hard on the brake pedal. At first I thought the brake light switch controlled this but that switch is working fine (my trailer brake controller lights right up and soon as I touch the brake pedal). I also got a nice scare the other day when I tapped the brake to disengage the cruise control and nothing happened. I had to really press on the brakes to get cruise to shut off.
My question is... is the pressure switch located in the master cylinder? If so, can it be removed without draining fluids? Is it something that can be cleaned or does it have to be replaced? How does one test it?
I'm guessing this is problem but if anyone knows different I'd love to hear about it.
Sorry about the long winded post. I can't seem to say anything in two sentences or less.
Thanks,
Dave
