2012 F-350 single, 6.7 diesel:

I get 6.3 volts at the truck's trailer connection when depressing the brake pedal and 12 volts when activating the brake controller. What might be up with that?

Your brake controller is progressive. the harder you press on the brake peddle the more voltage is sent to the brakes on the trailer.

Thanks so much. Are all brake controllers like that? I also have a 2000 Ford F-250 with an aftermarket controller on it and it seems to work differently. For awhile I was thinking I had an issue with my trailer brakes when hooked up to the 2012 F-350 but they worked fine with the older F-250.
