That's a stunning picture. There is no way to pull the pan with the engine in the truck. Well, no rational way. There are some cowboys who cut out the crossmember, do their repair, and weld it back in but I think that's nuts. The problem is the oil pick up tube bolts to the bottom of the front cover. Do yourself a favor and pull the engine. New rod and crank bearings and new rings while your there. Might get another 500k before you have to pull it again. Check your fuel pressure. That's the most common cause of a broken tip.
