i have decided to get a BTS tranny. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif is there any break in required before towing? i saw a show about the ultimate adventure where they stopped by BTS and then did some off roading nearby. im hoping to be able to haul my rock crawling rig when i go, so i can run some trails while they are wrenchin on my tranny. it a samurai, so its pretty light. i figure it and the trailer weigh 6000lbs or less. will this be a problem? thanks, -marty

Marty,
I doubt that after you get there and meet Brian and his crew you will want to leave. They are such nice people and Brian will explain all the mods he is doing while he does them and why. It is such an experience I can't imagine not being there.

17 1/2 hours straight through and worth every minute of it. Got there at 20 minutes to 8:00. Had to wait on Brian until 8:00 didn't even sleep until that night. He built a second trans I brought the next day while we went to Springfield in the snow. Straight through coming back too. Man what a trip. But I love my trans. Just bite the bullet and hit the road. Its worth every minute of the trip. Your probably lucky coming in from the north. its a real PITA to come in from the east. Still 5+ hours after you enter the state. Brian's shop is on the only straight piece of road in the state. I am serious. Just look it up on Google Earth and look at the roads. I don't think they had a bull dozer when they built the roads. I think the had a rake and a shovel to just smooth off the ground.....

I had mine done back on march 27th after they put the oil in it brian runs it thru the gears while it up on the jack then you take him for a ride to get most of the air out and then he tells you to do whatever you want. It was a great road trip i took my ten year old son and we had a ball he was riding his bike,shooting his bb gun and finding all kinds of bones and rocks it was great o'yeah and be ready to get whooped if you play a game of basket ball with Brians daughter /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif.I paid $4300.00 for everything oil,cooler,tranny and tax as for Brians secrets i asked if i could take some pictures and he said i could do whatever i want if he dosnt what you to see something your not gonna see it. He lets you stand right next to him when he's working if you want and explains everything Brian ,Patty and there whole crew are great.

I am making the trip from Nor Cal. 1950+ miles each way. I have spoked with Brian a few times on the phone and I have no doubt that it is worth the drive. As long as fuel stays below $4.50 a gallon it will be one heck of a road trip.
