Does anyone know how to get rid of this tune off my PCM? When the guy turned it off, that's exactly what happened. It was turned off but still resides on my PCM. I want it off of there.

Thanks to all the BullyDog dealers who chimed in and to Bully Dog. I'll be sure to not patronize your sites, and to bad mouth the product as much as possible.

Since nobody else responded, I will, although I can't promise much. The only way I can think to remove the program is to have the PCM reflashed. I can only think of three options in that case. One; PM one of the techs on this sight and get his opinion of how a service manager might react to reflashing back to stock. Talk to the service managers of the local dealers, be honest and offer to pay for the reflash. There is a good possibilty they will reflash it with no charge since they would prefer the truck stock also, and could save them warranty headaches later. Two; Find someone with the same vintage truck with a programmer and see if the programmer will load the original stock program of the other persons truck into yours. Three; Order a programmer with a stock tune and upload it, which might be the most expensive option. As for lack of responses, I do not thing this issue has even been mentioned on this sight before. Many, like myself, never thought about the fact that the Bully Dog program would be left in the PCM.

Your post is confusing. Bully Dog's web site says you have to go to a particpating dealer to get the three day trial tune installed. It also says:

"Remember, your free horsepower is only temporary. It’s after all only a test drive which lasts for a limited amount of time,
after which your truck will revert back to “stock” performance
automatically."

Your post says: "When the guy turned it off..". Who is "the guy"? Didn't you take it to a dealer like Bully Dog said?

What do you mean "turned it off"? If you choose not to wait for the tune to automatically restore to stock, then the only way to "turn off" the tune is to return it to the stock tune. Either way the truck is back the way it was.

You also say: "was turned off but still resides on my PCM. I want it off of there.". How did you determine something was still on you PCM?

First of all dont get anything from the dealer, there overpriced and if a dealer wants to sell you a bullydog anything....they have no clue what is going on with performance parts to begin with. Bullydog has been having problems with locking up ECU's. The best downloader for the 6.0L now is the STC Excalabrator 2 it made the best real power gains on an independant study that has the results on SCT's website http://www.sctflash.com/shootout.php Check it out great product.

With an intake and exhaust your truck is going to loose power if your going to change them both without changing the ECU program, you need a downloader or modual for your ECU. When you have exhaust and intake on a turbo truck your going to spool the turbo fast and the truck is not going to go anywhere you need the ECU tuned for more power before you do the exhaust and intake mods together. Alone they are good. <font color="red"> Checkout pmtdiesel.com for power packages starting @ 979.00 with exhaust intake and programer

Uturn, thanks for the reply. I went to my Ford dealer and the tech I know there checked me for latest flash. I am already there. I asked him if he could wipe the slate clean and start from scratch, he says no. Funny thing is if someone has the test tune it really is there they just disable the tune with a program switch. My tech cleared a bunch of messages (caused by the switch) from my truck and bam. I'm back to the tune horse power again. Drove it for three days and still active. Go to the Bully Dog DEALER that installed it in the first place, he doesn't know what to do other than turn it off again. He can not get a call back from tech support at Bully Dog. He's as frustrated as I am. He has given me the tech guys name and phone number. I am going to call this Bully Dog guy every day until I get him to help me.
