Well if you check my previous posts you will see the story of three seperate cases of bent push rods in #1, #3,and #5. The truck is in the dealership again! First time 19 days, second time 41 days and now 9 days so far, no word what they will do. I was working with Ford Customer Care Solution Team to try and resolve all this. There was talk of new motor, buy back, replacement etc. Then they failed to return calls of e-mails. I filed with BBB AutoLine, and now Ford CCST says they will no longer discuss the matter with me, and refered me to the BBB for arbitration. I can't get anyone to answer me at BBB. I am lost!!! Has anyone been where I am? What can I do? What happens next? I need my truck! Thanx in advance!!!

Just file the paperwork with bbb and follow the steps they give you it took me about 5 months to finish the process but part of that was waiting on a truck to come into dealer. All went well for me but I will say I hope I never have to do this again it was a nitemare for me a lot of waiting on someone to give me a answer. Even after the alberation it took about two weeks to hear a answer back from bbb.
Good luck and read all the fine print to see if you fall in bbb guide lines for a buyback because there is a time and milage in my state anyway some states are diffrent.

good luck
And most of all keep your cool it will get you more than blowing up just keep in mind bbb is trying to help you with the issue.

The truck has only 26719 miles on it and is still under the 3 year/36000 mile warranty. Do I give the dealer a chance to fix it again?

If you have already filed with BBB and fall within their guidelines, I would let that process work. Might want to talk to a lawyer that specializes in Lemon law in your state but I would not sign anything until you hear back from BBB. In the meantime, I would research your state's lemon law yourself and gets your ducks in a row. Be prepared.

Well with all the problems you have had Thats your call but I would never trust that truck again If it was your post I read sometime ago You said it left your family on the side of the road broke down your are going to have to prove your truck is unsafe and not fixed and that it has left you and your family in a unsafe you will need a copy of all the things done to this truck to summit to bbb if you look on there website they tell you more on what is required and the days you will have to give for each time in the shop if you don't have them I would ask the dealer for a copy of the shop tickets. In my case the dealer was helpful and even wrote me a note to take with me on the issues.

once again keep your kool at all times ( I know its hard )

I had a 2003 6.0 It was bought back with 54000 miles on it. I went throught turbos injectors amd many other issues . The final straw was when i pulled on to the freeway with my family and then a few more injectos and the harness for the injectors FAILD. I called ford the next day and i STRESSED the Safety issue. 2 days later i received a call from a Ford Customer Care Specialist they offered 2 months worth of payments and i said that would never do my family is worth WAY MORE ( not that there is a price you could put on my family ) then 800.00. A week later they called back and said they could do a full truck replacement. I would STRESS THE SAFETY ISSUE because it is the truth! When you pull out on to the roadways and the truck fails who knows what could happen. THE TRUCK IS A SAFETY ISSUE! Believe me i have been throught the whole process. One thing if they offer you anything less than a full replacement truck DO NOT TAKE IT in there eyes you have accepted a settlement and do not need to do any more.

I have expereince with two buy-backs.

Immediately file a Dispute Settlement Form. Nevada's Lemon Law is only applicable to the first year of ownership.

First, stop giving Ford chances. Stop talking with Ford Customer Service (except to request the Dispute Settlement Form). Sever related ties with your dealership (after you ask for all history and paperwork of your repairs - don't tell them it's for a DSB case). They will all string you out with promises and excuses until it's too late. Believe me.

Immediately call Ford Customer Service and specifically ask that a Dispute Settlement Form be sent to you. Tell them you expect to receive it in the mail within 3 days. In the mean time, send a short certified letter to Ford Customer Service stating your case. Spare the details. Include copies of your records and a demand for a full refund or new replacement vehcile.

If you have not received a Dispute Settlement Board arbitration package from Ford Customer Assistance Center, write to the Dispute Settlement Board, PO Box 5120, Southfield MI 48086-5120, and explain that Ford has not given you one. They will supply you with what you need.

Get the form submitted, and get your case rolling as soon as possible. Your records are important. Keep cool and professional...the Dispute Board are not Ford employees, they are unpaid volunteers who are there to help you...Consumer advocates, so to speak. During the process, take every opportunity to dispute what Ford is going to say. Take advantage of speaking with the Board, not to vent, but to professionally make your case.

If you do not agree with the Board's decision, you can still pursue it legally. I don't know what the BBB can do for you.

Again, don't settle for more chances to repair. And don't settle for an unreasonable usage (mileage) charge.

Good luck. If your records are good you will win hands down. I won both of my cases, no questions asked.

[/ QUOTE ]IMO Heck NO! If it's had that many problems it's a Lemon. If the dealer could have fixed it they should have done so, That means the dealer service Dept was Incompetant, or the truck is unfixable. Sorry for your bad luck but I would MAKE Ford buy it back & start over,Good luck.

i feel your pain Lockup.. here is a summary of the NV BBB guidelines..it states that the process must be started within 18 months of original delivery to the purchaser..maybe there's more to it, I haven't looked into it too deeply..

if you fall outside the guidelines you may have to consult an attorney or keep having Ford try to find/fix the problem..

it's mind boggling how much money they spend trying to fix these trucks..i know they've thrown part after part at my truck trying to get it right..in my case, i can't honestly say they haven't tried to make me happy..they just haven't fixed my truck..my problem is not as severe as yours either..

good luck and keep posting..

Id have a lawyer and quick. I would let him do the BBB red tape and whatnot. Anything to get that situation out of my personal control. A laywer can get things moving in ways you've never thought of.

Especially being so close to your 36k. Hire a shark! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif It'll put a bur under their buns.

I bought the truck, used, in November of last year. Check out my previous posts for all the drama. I need a truck, it seems like this process may take months, what happens in the mean time? Am I just out a truck till this is all resolved? It doesn't seem right.

I bought mine November of last year also. Did you buy it used? If so it is a totally different process. I started my journey with the buyback in March and finally finished it up yesterday when we agreed to the truck in my sig. I also contacted the BBB on-line and Ford received notice that I did and they were on the phone with me every other day to keep me updated on status of my request. It still took almost 30 days after it was approved by Ford.

Good luck and like everyone else has said, keep your cool.

Here is the update. The NEW dealer in Utah called and said they found two cracked rocker arms that had come apart, and the result was bent push rods AGAIN. The head and entire rocker arm, valve train assembly will be replaced. They indicated that this should have been noticed at the last dealer, who attempted to repair the problem. The previous work orders show that the head was replaced but they used the old rocker arm, valve train assembly. What do you you think? Does this sound realistic? Or am I just having alot of parts thrown my way to avoid finding the real cause? Thanx in advance!!!

WOW..from BBB to NEW dealer in Utah, amazing. I'd say stick it out with new dealer & take your chances. I'm no tech. but maybe one here can clarify what the normal procedure is on parts replacement. GLuck!

btw...from personal experience & all that's posted here about warr. work nothing surprises me anymore. Hate to say, but tech. who did my e. work left parts loose etc. but it's still running good.

I will get the truck back tommorrow. Ford said they will start my 100,000 mile warranty over and my 3 year 36,000 over at the time I get the truck back. They have sent me 2 months worth of payments. What do you think?

An extension on the warranty should be good, but I would have Ford make some kind of an arrangement (on paper) that says if you have to go back again for the same pushrod-related problems, they will give a cash discount for the price of the 6.4 engine option in an '08. (about $7200). That way, if you do want to trade trucks, they dont have to absorb the entire "buy back" price, but they do retain you as a customer. And you can get something a little more reliable, possibly, without the horrendous sticker shock that new 2008's provide. Oh, and Id be sure to be able to combine X-Plan Pin discount with the 6.4 engine discount...

I wouldnt let them off too easily. I would explain to them you are more concerned with "up time" and "dependability" than you are in extension of warranty.

Just my thoughts on the process.

26K miles and the top end has been apart 4 times? I think that vehicle has chronic problems, and it will continue to plague you. At best you would have very little confidence with it, and if the repair history is checked upon resale, you will lose value.

The warranty extension is nice, but doesn't mean much if you're broke down on the highway with your family and toy hauler, or constantly waiting for it to be repaired at the dealer.

You meet the buy-back conditions, and IMO would have no problem winning the case. It's just a matter of going through the process. The choice is yours, and by the looks of Ford's change of heart, I'd say you're in the driver's seat.
