buying used, want to check on engine work

Does any one know if there is a way to find out what if any repair work has been done to a vehicle. I am looking at buying a used 2006 F250 with just over 1000 miles. want to find out if something is wrong with it or maybe it was a loaner. any info on this would be great. THANKS. MIKE
