Can I buy a gasket for the lower elbow on my waterpump drips? I have 164,000 on the truck. Iam gonna be making a 2thousand mile trip in a month? Do you think that I can just replace that gasket on the bottom? The waterpump itself doesnt leak anywhere. Can I pull on the belt and spin the waterpump to see if it bad ideas?

There is an O-ring in that location. The O-ring can be purchased separately.

Where could I purchase that o ring? The dealership? Do you think the rest of my waterpump is fine for awhile if it shows no signs of leaks?

The dealership is where I buy them. I can't remember ever replacing a water pump that wasn't leaking.

I tried finding the o-ring a few years ago, including my dealer - they couldn't get it for me. I think the Napa counter guy let me have one from a reman pump.

That isn't true. Perhaps they didn't get one for you but it wasn't because they couldn't. This may be the part number F81Z8255AA

That is the right part # thanks so much. Do you think waterpump will be fine for the trip if I just fix that leak? nothing else is leaking at all.

Mine has 170,000 it did the same thing.I just put rtv on the oring and it has been fine.The pump is not leaking
