I am considering a cat delete pipe to go along with a MBRP 4" cat back exhaust. My 05 6.0 truck is all stock. I don't want to do anything to my truck that's going to cause me any problems. My state doesn't inspect vehicles. Any suggestions? Pro's and Con's?

I hear one might get a reduction in low end torque. But I do not know what the specifics would be. If you have an auto tranny I am not sure you would even notice it.

Well, don't "get rid of it" literally. Keep it around the garage. In case your area does decide to inspect your vehicles in a year or two.

if ur truck is all stock and does not have a programmer to retune the waste gate to operate at max capacity u are beating ur head against the wall u will actually loose power unless u reprogram the wastegate so if its stock leave it be

I'm fairly sure the 05 6.0 doesn't have a wastegate.

You have to sell it!!
Tell her how cool it is to be seen in a :ford: truck making all kinds of noise under the hood and out the tailpipe. This is not your typical noisemaker gasser!!
Also, tell her it will get her free membership into the "Secret Society of Powerstroke Owners" and that is not to be taken lightly :jester:

Cat Delete

I have a 4" magnaflow turbo-back exhaust. I just took off my muffler and hollowed out my cat. I love it. I ran a pipe through the Cat, and put it back on. It sounds great. At idle it sounds like a fighter jet, and when you get into it the sound is amazing. Its deep and throaty. Im just waiting to see if it lowers my EGT's when towing. If you want your truck to have that sound like a beast I highly recommend doing it.

Ouch. You would have been better off tossing the kitty aside for a test pipe in case you ever need the kitty later on for emissions.

Got any idea how hard they are to come by and how much they cost ?

Thats the beauty of the whole thing, I picked up a stock cat from my local classifieds for $200 and kept my original one. Then ran the piping through it, so it looks like the stock cat is still there. Hands down one of the best things Ive done to the truck I love it. The sound these things put out is unreal.
