[Testosterone]

For the last several weeks I have been hearing a popping noise similar to when a rock flies up under the truck. It seems to be coming from the area near the catalytic converter, similar when the truck cools down you hear the "popping" noise. It seems to only do it for the first five minutes or so, like it is coming up to temperature.

Anyone experienced this??

I only have the 5.4L but I've never heard that before.

I bet your heat sheild on the cat is buying the farm. I have removed most of my heat sheilds. So,at least look for the simple things first, then worrie about it if the noise is still being made.

Thanks, I was looking for a broken weld in the heat shields at the Y-pipe and Cat, I agree with you on this just have not found it. It just bugs me to hear it popping.
