Ok so last night I changed out the orings on the water seperator valve after draining the fuel bowl. Now the pump is running but I am not getting any fuel to the bowl to fill it back up. The pump is only about 3 weeks old so I know its strong and I do not see anything unplugged. Any ideas???

How do you know that you're not getting any fuel to the bowl? Just curious.

I assume you have the filter in and cover on?

Open the valve and the turn the key on to see if you have fuel running out of the drain - open = lever is pointed straight back, closed, lever is pointed to passenger side.

When you turn the key, fuel will only flow for about 20 seconds, then you have to turn the key off / on again. Usually takes about 3 - 4 cycles to fill bowl (with drain shut). You should also hear the air being purged out through the pressure regulating valve.

When I changed the valve out I drained all of the fuel out of the bowl. I opened the bowl and there is no fuel in there. Should the pump still pump fuel into the bowl with the cover off the bowl?
Ahhhh - huh??

Another question is how are trying to fill the bowl?? And how are you verifying the fill?

If you drained the fuel, there will be no fuel in there when you open it, unless you cycle the key a few times to fill the bowl up.

I advise you to either follow my last recommendations or:

1) close the valve
2) put filter in (don't forget o-ring)
3) put lid on (don't forget o-ring)
4) close hood
5) turn key to run for 20 seconds and shut off
6) repeat step 5 four times
7) start truck

If truck will not start or dies after a bit, we can troubleshoot that later - but it sounds like if the truck ran before, and nothing was disturbed, and all you did was change the o-rings, then then truck will operate as specified and there is something missing in the communication here.

Yes -the truck will pump fuel to the bowl if the pump is running and there is fuel in the tank - even with no cover.

I tried cycling the pump a few times with the cover off and there is no fuel at all flowing into the bowl. I can hear the pump run a while but no fuel is going into the bowl. Not sure how I managed this.

how cold is it where you are? could you have some ice built up in your lines? that junk usld has a notorious problem with harboring moisture as a result of the manufacturing process, and it doesn't take that much to get a little bit of ice in the system. Along with the fact that FOMOCO really likes to put tiny fuel lines on everthing.

Its about 50 outside. Could it be that I ran the truck out of fuel and got some air in the lines? I backed the truck out of the garage and let it run for a while and then it actually choked down itself. If so how do you get the air out of the lines?
