Changing fuel filter

I'm going to change the fuel filter on my truck tomorrow. Any tips other than filling up the new filter with fuel before installing?

Not sure what the 7.3 conversion kit is. I've seen a few people on here with that. Whats the difference? Maybe, next filter change I'll look into that. How long until I should change the filter again?
