then why do most of the guys on here that have half what i have but have the 4". what is the reasoning?

Over compensation for a small penis? Ok, I am just kidding! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Personally, I think it's the bigger is better mentality. IMHO, the 3.5" gives a broader more usable powerband, and what it barely gives up at the top end peak, it more than makes up for with the "area under the curve power" in the rest of the powerband. Also, the outlet of your turbo where it connects to the exhaust pipe is just barely larger than 3" so why would you need the giant step to 4"? Also, Gale Banks has stated that he prefers 3.5" downpipes but he sells a 4" because of people having the affore mentioned "bigger is better mentality". And another thing, many of these big turbo setup's such as the H2E, W.O.P. Quick Spool, & BDP H2E hybrid all utilize 3.5" downpipes. If these Big air breather's can work with a 3.5" DP, then our measly turbo sure as heck can.

Is the 2002's downpipe crimped, or is it good enough as is? It's already 3.5", correct?

It's smaller than 3.5"

The outlet is a little smaller than 3 inches. It is 72mm or 2.835 inches.

I swear FOMOGO took his vernier calipers to the outlet of his turbo when I was over and it was just over 3". I may have heard him wrong or my mind done scrambled the numbers on me. Either way, the 3.5" is definately big enough to support whatever exhaust flow our turbo throws at it without causing the exhaust velocity loss like a 4".

I don't know what size his is but the one setting in front of me is 72mm. It's off a 2000 F-250.

I believe ya. For some reason I thought he said it was just over 3" or was it just under 3" he said? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I'm not sure on the cheap, but I imagine you can get them from itpdiesel.com , gosracing.com , and dieselpowerproducts.com

I have great dealings from all three of those places.
