Laugh if you must, but I had to come up with a temporary way to mount seven gauges while experimenting with a SVO setup. I previously had 3 in a ceiling pod, but they had to be moved for the explorer console mod.
HERE'S the Webshots pic of it mounted without all the gauges. Could be painted if desired. Basicallly I had noticed most std 2" gauges fit snugly inside 2" ABS pipe. Some may need a little tape to make them fit snug. I cut 7 pieces about 4-5" long. Glued them together with ABS cement at an angle toward the driver, and mounted them. The honeycomb layout is very strong too. It could be painted any color, or left in the raw.
You can easily mount 9 gauge pods in the pictured style, or invert it to get room for 11. You could even put several shorter ones underneath for 16 gauges. Go wild, impress your friends!!! To get the full ******* effect, just mount it on top of the dash /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
